What machan. is
machan. is a directory of businesses whose owners self-identify as Malayali or Keralite, in the United States. We are not affiliated with any association or WhatsApp group, and we are not a party to any transaction between you and a listed business.
Listings
- You may only add or claim a listing for a business you own or manage, or with the owner's permission.
- Information you submit must be accurate and lawful, and must not infringe anyone's rights. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, format and share the business information you submit, for the purpose of running the directory.
- We review listings before publishing and may edit, decline or remove any listing at our discretion, including for inaccuracy, inactivity or abuse.
- Owners may request correction or removal at any time.
No endorsement
Review means we checked that a business appears real and reachable. It is not an endorsement or guarantee of quality, licensing, pricing or safety. Please use your own judgement, and check licences for regulated services (health, legal, tax, childcare and similar).
Paid placements and ads
- Featured, Spotlight and banner placements are paid and are always labelled as sponsored.
- Payment is made through a secure Stripe payment link. Placements are month to month unless agreed otherwise and run until the end of the paid period after cancellation. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law or where we cancel a placement early without cause.
- Ads must be truthful and lawful. We may decline or remove ads that are misleading, offensive or not suitable for a family audience.
- Paying for a placement does not affect whether a listing is approved.
Acceptable use
Do not scrape the directory for spam, submit false information, impersonate others, attempt to access admin areas, or interfere with the site's operation.
Communications
By submitting a form you agree that we may contact you by email, phone or WhatsApp about that submission. Marketing emails are sent only with your opt-in and always include an unsubscribe option.
Disclaimers and liability
The site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, machan. is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages, or for dealings between users and listed businesses. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
